How are shipping costs calculated?

Modified on Thu, 17 Nov 2022 at 02:24 PM

Lots of factors go into how much it costs to ship an order to you. Some ship methods cost us a certain amount based on the weight of the package and how far it has to travel to get to you. Others charge a flat rate for however many products will fit into a certain size package. Often there are extra fees for oversize packages or certain types of deliveries. If your order contains flammable or hazardous items, we may have to ship with a more expensive method to comply with regulations.

With the exception of a small handling fee to cover packaging costs in some cases, we never purposely inflate shipping costs - we only charge what the shipping carrier charges us. If the shipping fee for your order seems unusually high, please reach out and we'd be happy to take a look and see what's going on. Because our shipping calculations are automated, errors with product information (such as an incorrect weight) could cause higher prices than we intend.
